The Trans-cultural/ Diversity Specialist

Niche:Psychodynamic and Integrative modalities

Expertise:
I have worked with clients from a range of diverse cultural, ethnic, religious and racial backgrounds. As a Muslim Asian counsellor I can offer a safe and confidential counselling space to clients who may particularly find it therapeutic to work with a counsellor who has direct understanding of cultural and religious dynamics and the impact upon daily life. As a Muslim counsellor working within a private service, you have the choice to work with a Muslim/ Asian counsellor if this choice is not available to you within your local/ NHS/GP services. As a psychodynamic and integrativecounsellor I am experienced in working with both deep-routed issues and their impact upon your present life as well as working with current issues which may be impacting upon your well-being.

Overview:

Online counselling provides an opportunity to explore a personal difficulty in a confidential and supportive environment. This may include expressing feelings that are painful, and which many of us experience during certain times in our lives. When this happens, it can be difficult to stay positive and cope with everyday life. Online counselling gives you the opportunity to access counselling support at a time and in a place which is convenient to you.

Online counselling can help with a wide range of issues including, abuse, anxiety, stress, depression, eating disorders, loneliness, relationship difficulties, bereavement, self-esteem, sexual orientation, sexual abuse, discrimination, domestic violence and many more. I have experience of working with all the above issues.

Approach:

I am a qualified and experienced Counsellor with additional specialist training as an Online Counsellor.I work with clients across all age ranges from age 18 and up. I am committed to offering a service which is welcoming to all backgrounds, races, religions and cultures in a supportive, inclusive and non-discriminatory manner.

I can work with both short-term contracts (up to a fixed number of sessions) and long-term counselling contracts. Online counselling can be conducted via secure email, Skype instant messaging or Skype video/audio counselling. You can choose your prefered method of online counselling communication.

We will agree a weekly ‘appointment time’.For Skype counselling this will be the agreed time to meet on Skype. For email counselling this is the time when you will receive my email reply. As I will need some time to read your previous email before I can send my reply at the ‘appointment time’, I will need you to send your email at least 48 hours before I send my reply (i.e. 48 hours before the ‘appointment time’).
